Source: Cloud9 to add Curry for Xeta

North American organization Cloud9 T1 is ready to add VALORANT player Rahul “Curry” Nemani for Son “xeta” Seon-ho, multiple sources familiar with the deal told DotSports.

Curry could not play with Cloud 9 tonight because they failed to add him before the roster lock. Curry’s first match for Cloud9 is likely to be against OpTic Gaming Next week on May 22nd.

Cloud 9 is one of the few NA teams that has not changed its roster during the busy offseason. The team has remained relatively unchanged since the addition of in-game leader Anthony “Vanity” Malaspina from version 1 in August 2021.

Xeta has been a part of Cloud 9 since January 26th. The Korean player was repatriated to North America in late 2020 after Cloud9’s Korean roster head coach Yoon “Autumn” split with Eu-teum.

Curry, who has been on T1 since February 2021, did not qualify for the VCT circuit with his VALORANT team this year. The T1 has been at the top of the Tier-One competition for a long time but has consistently failed to live up to expectations. Most recently, T1 failed to qualify for the VCT Stage 2 Challengers earlier this month.

NYFU defeated T1 in the first open qualifier and VIRTUOSO in the second. Both defeats at the start of the tournament ensured that they would not qualify for the VCT Stage 2 Challengers Group Stage.
