Ambitious Elden Ring Mod Reborn Is Overhauling…Basically Everything

Elden Ring Reborn is shaping up to be the Elden Ring mod that might tempt you into a full replay of one of the best open-world games on PC this year. The massive overhaul Project FromSoftware takes the game to a whole new level, aiming to “touch every aspect of the gameplay and add lots of new content.” While it’s currently a work in progress, Elden Ring Reborn already has a huge amount going for it, and its developer is helping entice fans to give additional feedback and make one of the best RPG games out there even better. hope to help.

Elden Ring Reborn Mode, created by Halcyon (who goes by halcyonproject on Nexus Mods), is a long-term project that aims to fix or polish every aspect of FromSoftware’s smash hit. Currently, the mod includes a massive spell overhaul, major talisman changes, universal slotting mechanics, a bow rework, new starting classes, significant changes to the stat and leveling system, enemy and boss rebalancing, and more.

Despite that long list, Hallison estimates that he has currently faced only 10% of the game. They are using their version numbers to estimate how far development of the mod has progressed – so this initial 0.100 release represents 10% of that progress. Halcyon says that “the goal is to reach 1.0 and then hopefully follow that up with a cycle of new content until 2.0.”

The current highlights are of course the magic and bow overhaul. Spells have seen a number of improvements, re-purposes, and even complete re-enactments, along with a new balanced regeneration system for your FP (the Elden Ring’s blue mana bar). Elden Ring’s spells were already a real highlight, but some of these new offerings are well worth a look—just watching them in action could easily be enough to sell you, even as the development progresses. Even in this early stage.

The bows have also been heavily remodeled – Halcyon says they wanted to add “a unique and very viable feel to low bow combat”. The crossbow has also seen some love, but the latter has reasons to garner more attention. Universal slotting mechanics have been added for Ashes of War, Spells, Parallels, etc. In particular, Halcyon promises major improvements to all of the game’s talismans and new abilities for some that previously felt a bit overwhelming.

Elden Ring also includes Detail Description Mode, a great quality-of-life feature that explains in detail what each item in the game does, down to individual number values and percentages. If you haven’t tried it out yet, Elden Ring Reborn is a great opportunity to do so — and it should help you wrap your head around all the new items and features coming in the future.

We’re definitely excited to see where Elden Ring Reborn ends up, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on it. It already gives off the vibes of more ambitious modern projects like Dark Souls: Daughters of Ash. Of course, if you want to wait for development to go a bit further, we have plenty of great Elden Ring mods to browse through in the meantime.
